Setting
“Heavenly Delusion” is set in a stark post-apocalyptic world, a desolate landscape scarred by an unprecedented cataclysm that has led to the collapse of civilization. The narrative artfully contrasts two principal environments, each presenting its own distinct set of challenges and mysteries:
- The Facility (Heaven): This represents a highly secure, enclosed area where a group of children live under the seemingly benevolent care of advanced robots. They are deliberately isolated from the perilous outside world. While this environment initially appears safe and nurturing, it is deeply imbued with an air of mystery, hinting at secrets hidden beneath its tranquil facade.
- The Outside World: In stark contrast to the sheltered existence within the facility, the outside world is a treacherous and dangerous landscape. It is populated by enigmatic supernatural beings and littered with the haunting remnants of a shattered civilization. This environment is a constant testament to the devastation that has befallen humanity.
Plot
The narrative masterfully unfolds through two distinct yet interconnected storylines:
- Maru and Kiruko’s Journey: This thread follows Maru, a determined young boy, who is accompanied by his companion, Kiruko. Together, they embark on a perilous journey across the devastated world, driven by the hope of finding a legendary place they believe to be “Heaven.” Their expedition is fraught with constant challenges, dangerous encounters, and the ever-present threat of the unknown.
- Tokio’s Experience: This storyline centers on Tokio, a young girl residing within the mysterious confines of the facility. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she receives a cryptic and intriguing message posing a single, profound question: “Do you want to go outside?” This mysterious communication compels her to intensely question her own existence and the very nature of the reality that exists beyond the protective walls of her sheltered home.

- Tokio: A young girl living within the seemingly secure facility. She finds herself grappling with the profound implications of the outside world after receiving a mysterious and life-altering message, forcing her to confront the possibility of a different existence.
Through these characters and their individual journeys, “Heavenly Delusion” intricately explores profound themes of survival in extreme conditions, the complex nature of identity, and the very essence of reality in a world irrevocably transformed by disaster.
