The following morning dawned with a sense of profound anticipation. Mitsuru, after ensuring his girls were settled and comfortable in their new home, prepared to meet the man who had orchestrated his return and held the keys to Jirkunland’s future. He was escorted by Kamen to a stately building at the heart of the city, a place radiating an aura of wisdom and authority. Inside, he was greeted by Master Genryu, a man of fifty-three, his presence commanding yet gentle. He was eighteen years younger than Mitsuru’s original timeline self in the City of the Good, a curious twist of fate that brought them together.

“It is a true honor, Master Genryu,” Mitsuru stated, his voice sincere and his posture one of deep respect, hands clasped loosely before him.

A soft smile graced Genryu’s face as he stepped forward, extending his hands to clasp Mitsuru’s. “Mitsuru, the brave time traveler,” he said, his voice warm. “I am pleased that you are here, and that I was the one who sent you back to this time. I know you speak the truth.” Genryu then lifted his right hand, drawing attention to a ring on his index finger, its deep red stone glowing faintly. “This ring,” he explained, “allows me to construct time travel for very special occasions through its magical abilities. However, I would only undertake such a feat for someone truly qualified.”

He squeezed Mitsuru’s hands gently. “I sent you back when you were fifteen years old. Mitsuru,” his voice became firmer, filled with conviction, “it was with the foreknowledge that you were destined to be a great king. The first wave will begin to form in three years from now. I want you to enjoy the beauty and peace of Jirkunland and to aid me in my task. All the facilities you require will be granted to you. You will work closely with me in the grand parliament of Jirca, where we will make the strategic decisions that will shape our future.”

Then, Mitsuru, gathering all his courage, voiced the question that weighed heavily on his heart. “Master Genryu, I must ask you this. I have five girls with whom I share a profound love. I was sent to the past to save them all, and some other people I have yet to meet. I was informed that the only way these girls can be saved is if they belong to me, and I have made them all a part of my life, a part of my love. Am I permitted to have them with me?”

Master Genryu looked at Mitsuru, his smile widening, his eyes holding a depth of profound wisdom. He gently tapped Mitsuru’s shoulder. All he said was, “They are given to you, Mitsuru. Keep them.”

A wave of profound relief washed over Mitsuru. This confirmation meant more than he could articulate. He could not only keep them as his family here in Jirkunland, but also in the City of the Good, where only the pure of heart would enter. In the following days, Mitsuru immersed himself in the workings of the parliament, learning the intricate dance of strategy and diplomacy. Yet, his most cherished moments were spent with the girls. They had been his only family, his solace, his reason. In the City of the Good, he had been utterly alone, having lost his original family in the second wave of 2044 when he was just twelve, and living in solitary grief ever since. The girls were his companions, his anchors, and he cherished this bond with every fiber of his being, a precious gift he vowed to protect and keep at the core of his time travel mission.
