The world outside the palace hummed with a complex rhythm of progress and encroaching shadow. By the end of 2027, Jirkunland, once a land overlooked and impoverished, had undergone a miraculous transformation under Master Genryu’s rule. Its wealth, unearthed from its rich mineral veins, flowed freely, fueling not only its own prosperity but also the clandestine development of the Prototype A2 military units. Construction was nearing its final stages, a testament to Genryu’s vision and the promise of a formidable defense against the coming storm. Yet, even as hope took root in Jirkunland, the world beyond its borders seethed with Aanza’s machinations. More and more wicked plans unfurled, and unrest, punctuated by small, targeted destructions, rippled across the globe as Aanza meticulously prepared to seize absolute control, to become the sole, unchallenged ruler of the world.
Amidst this rising tide of chaos, Mitsuru remained an untouchable beacon of tranquility. He would often seek solace in the quietest corner of the palace gardens, the scent of blossoms a gentle perfume on the air, and allow his mind to drift back. He would recall the momentous transition, the day he first became Kanzaki, the unexpected inheritance of a life already lived. His thoughts would inevitably drift to the dream realm, to the moment he first encountered the real Ava, not as a fleeting echo, but as a soul yearning for connection. He remembered the courage that surged through him then, the brave step forward as he embraced the pervasive mind of Kanzaki, allowing himself to kiss her. He recalled the profound trust in Ava’s eyes as she recognized his authentic soul beneath the inherited memories, as she fell into his arms, returning his kiss with an openness that still moved him. He remembered how she had, with a selfless grace, fulfilled all the deeply ingrained, Kanzaki-inherited desires, a testament to her boundless affection that had, in turn, helped shape him into the man he was today.
His gaze would then sweep over his other four devoted companions—Yuki, Poi, Shika, and Jing. He thought of how they had supported him, their unwavering presence a constant source of strength throughout the years. They had become his family, a unit bound by something far deeper than circumstance. He cherished the love he shared with each of them, their deep affection, their absolute trust, their unconditional love for all that he was, for the man he had become. A profound sense of bliss, warm and comforting, would grow within him, a quiet realization of the immense blessings in his life.
He was grateful, deeply and profoundly grateful, for everything that had transpired. He was grateful for the divine intervention, for the chance to be chosen, for the opportunity to save these few beautiful souls. They, more than anyone, deserved to be with the kindred spirits in the City of the Good, to experience a truly good end to their journey. A king’s destiny was upon him, yes, but it was a destiny forged in love, nurtured by devotion, and illuminated by the profound realization that true strength lay not in dominion, but in the preservation of purity and the safeguarding of precious lives. He was Mitsuru, a noble king, a shepherd of souls, destined to guide them through the coming darkness towards the dawning light.
