Setting
Fate/strange Fake is set in the fictional city of Snowfield, Nevada. This seemingly ordinary American city is transformed into a clandestine battleground for a Holy Grail War. Here, powerful mages summon legendary Heroic Spirits, figures of myth and history, to engage in a deadly conflict. Their ultimate prize is the Holy Grail, a legendary omnipotent artifact capable of granting any wish. However, the Grail War taking place in Snowfield is not the genuine article; it is a flawed imitation of the original, more significant Grail War that once occurred in the distant Fuyuki City, setting the stage for unique and unforeseen complications.
Plot
The narrative intricately revolves around a Holy Grail War that has been improperly initiated and copied from the patterns of the Third Holy Grail War. An independent organization based in the United States, operating entirely separate from the esteemed Mage’s Association in London, has undertaken the ambitious endeavor of conducting their own Grail War. They achieve this by utilizing fragmented data and knowledge gleaned from the original conflict. However, their ritual is fundamentally incomplete and flawed, leading to a cascade of unexpected and chaotic consequences. This deviation from the established norms results in a war where familiar rules are bent, new powers emerge, and various unexpected participants clash fiercely in their pursuit of the coveted Holy Grail.
