Plot Overview
Nisekoi: False Love follows Raku Ichijo, an earnest highâschooler born into the Shueiâgumi yakuza, whoâs thrust into an absurd peacekeeping ruse after a chance encounter with Chitoge Kirisakiâthe fiery daughter of a rival bossâand a mysterious lost locket. To prevent a gang war, Raku and Chitoge must present themselves as a couple, forcing two very different teens into staged intimacy. The fake relationship spawns a parade of misunderstandings, secret pasts, and romantic misfires as Rakuâs genuine feelings for his timid classmate Kosaki Onodera collide with the increasingly complicated ties that bind him to Chitoge and the others.
Main Characters
- Raku Ichijo: A wellâmeaning, somewhat unlucky protagonist torn between duty and his own heart; his straightforward nature anchors the seriesâ chaos.
- Chitoge Kirisaki: A brash, quickâtempered girl of mixed heritage whose sharp exterior hides vulnerability; her forced proximity to Raku sparks both friction and unexpected warmth.
- Kosaki Onodera: Rakuâs sweet, longâtime crushâgentle and reservedâwhose shy warmth complicates Rakuâs obligations and feelings.
- Tsugumi Seishiro: Chitogeâs stoic childhood protector (and trained operative) who adds a cool, competent foil to the group dynamic.
- Marika Tachibana: A determined, dramatic girl who insists sheâs Rakuâs rightful fiancĂ©e, intensifying the showâs romantic confusion.
