Plot Summary

Kizumonogatari Part 1: Tekketsu introduces viewers to Koyomi Araragi, a third-year high school student leading a seemingly ordinary life, which is abruptly upended when he becomes embroiled in a dangerous supernatural conflict. The narrative unfolds as Koyomi strikes up a friendship with Tsubasa Hanekawa, the academically brilliant top student at his school. Hanekawa, with her perceptive nature, warns Koyomi about peculiar rumors circulating in their town concerning a mysterious “blonde vampire.” Intrigued and perhaps a little reckless, Koyomi ventures out that very evening, only to have a fateful encounter with the vampire in question. He discovers the formidable Kiss-Shot Acerola-Orion Heart-Under-Blade in a state of extreme vulnerability, gravely injured and missing her limbs, the victim of an attack by three relentless vampire hunters.

In a moment of impulsive desperation and perhaps a nascent sense of responsibility, Koyomi offers his own blood to the dying vampire. This act has a profound and irreversible consequence: it transforms him into her vampire subordinate. However, Koyomi’s deepest desire is not to embrace this new existence, but to shed the vampiric curse and regain his lost humanity. Kiss-Shot, though weakened, reveals that the path to his salvation lies in retrieving her severed limbs, which have been taken by the very vampire hunters who attacked her.
