Plot Summary
Fullmetal Alchemist: Conqueror of Shamballa is set two years after the climactic events of the original Fullmetal Alchemist anime series. The narrative follows Edward Elric, who finds himself inexplicably transported to a parallel world, specifically the historical setting of Munich, Germany, in the year 1923. In this new reality, Edward is stripped of his alchemical powers, a devastating loss that profoundly impacts his life. He endeavors to carve out a new existence, working as a rocket scientist alongside a young boy named Alfons Heiderich, whose striking resemblance to his own brother, Alphonse, serves as a constant, poignant reminder of what he has lost and where he belongs.
Edward’s solitary life in this unfamiliar world takes a significant turn when he rescues a Romani woman named Noah. Noah possesses extraordinary clairvoyant abilities, and her visions begin to intertwine with Edward’s own fragmented memories and his desperate desire to return home. Meanwhile, in their original world, Alphonse Elric remains, relentlessly searching for any means to reunite with his older brother, Edward. The plot intensifies with the emergence of the Thule Society, a clandestine and fanatical organization with insidious ties to the burgeoning Nazi party. This society harbors an obsessive belief that a parallel world, known as Shamballa, represents a utopian paradise. Their ultimate goal is to force open a portal between worlds, a dangerous endeavor that threatens to destabilize both realities. This ambition ignites a series of fierce conflicts involving Edward, who must confront the Thule Society’s dangerous ambitions with his limited resources, and Alphonse, who battles his own path towards reunion, all against the backdrop of a politically charged and volatile historical period. The film culminates in a desperate struggle against the Thule Society’s world-altering aspirations.

- Alphonse Elric: Edward’s younger brother, who remains in their original world. He is driven by an unwavering determination to find Edward and bridge the gap between their realities.
- Alfons Heiderich: A young boy Edward befriends in the parallel world. His uncanny resemblance to Alphonse serves as a source of both comfort and sorrow for Edward.
